Comments before the trip
With the stupendous honour and privilege of possibly being able to conquer one of Malaysia's highest mountains to its pinnacle has instilled me with yet another challenge and perhaps, one of the toughest so far. Scaling such a mountain may be relatively easy, but the difficulty of the highest "mountain" in Singapore is nowhere near it, simply speaking, Singapore has no mountains but hills. Therefore, during the trip in Sabah, I would want to build up the level of determination in me required to overcome most obstacles in life as well as the discipline to do so. There are also certain things which I would want to know about Sabah, its culture, economy and way of life. I feel honoured to go on this trip because mountain climbing is something new for me. However, I also feel a little nervous because I fear vomiting under the "clutches" of the high altitude. 2 ways I can cooperate with my schoolmates and teachers to make this trip successful are to first know them in out and also encourage each other when one of us is on the verge of failure due to one's feeble determination. 1 way I am preparing myself to face difficulties on the trip is to first endure the sheer cold towards the negative and also to improve my level of cardiovascular fitness and also the strengthening of my quadriceps which would be the main muscle worked during the climb.
